Nursing Education. Masters

The post-graduate curricula that Italian nurses may undertake is flexible and may develop throughout their entire professional life, even at one step at a time (masters and specialization courses are structured in modules).

Masters allow to gain university education credits (a Master allows to gain 60 credits, equal to 1500 hours) and they can be based on clinical practice, organization, teaching/education or research.

The EEC regulation have already disciplined the post-graduated educational offers to be ensured at a European level, by acknowledging specialization courses and masters in the fields of critical care, psychiatry, community medicine and paediatric as nursing “specializations”

Many universities run first level masters in the areas of organization, management and coordination.
